Summary
In this role, you will function as an emergency response medical professional, administering immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses such as cardiac arrests or strokes. You will provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is handed over to the accepting medical facility.
Job Duties
- Represent the ambulance service at public functions, expositions, and events, providing ambulance stand-by services when needed.
- Document comprehensive assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
- Cater to patients experiencing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises by delivering appropriate medical, therapeutic, and traumatic care.
- Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Operate equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms for advanced life support applications.
- Evaluate the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses to establish and prioritize medical procedures, including stabilization, immobilization, and safe transportation of victims.
- Respond to dispatcher instructions, driving and operating specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations safely.
- Administer medications via injection, intravenous methods, or orally under physician guidance.
- Communicate with medical personnel at emergency facilities to obtain treatment instructions.
- Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after transporting or treating patients with infectious diseases and report such cases to relevant authorities.
