We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston beginning Spring 2025. The candidate will assume a nine-month, lecturer non-tenure track appointment in the Counseling, School Psychology, and Sport Department, which houses two APA Accredited Programs in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology, MPCAC-Accredited Masters Programs in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling, NASP-Accredited Masters and Ed.S. Programs in School Psychology, a graduate certificate program in Applied Behavior Analysis, and a B.A. in Sport Leadership and Administration.
We seek candidates with teaching and clinical experience, preferably licensed, who have a commitment to serving students from a wide variety of backgrounds and identities. Ideally, we seek candidates whose teaching and clinical / supervisory practices display an understanding of the impact of systemic and structural racism and other sources of discrimination on mental health; and / or prevention and intervention efforts.
Responsibilities :
The individual in this position would teach courses primarily online in the M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program as well as teach in person. The individual would contribute clinical expertise and teach internship seminar courses as well as other content-based courses in the M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program. Teaching assignments may also vary depending on the needs of the department and will include a teaching load of 8 courses across the fall and spring semesters.
Requirements :
- Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or related field with 3 years post-graduation experience.
- Licensed or license eligible as a Licensed Psychologist / Health Services Provider in Massachusetts or Licensed Mental Health Counselor / Licensed Professional Counselor.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates who have experience in conducting clinical supervision and teaching clinically focused courses.
