Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor

Full Time

As a Lab Supervisor, at Northwest Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited program;
  • Or Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry, biology, or microbiology
  • with 2 years of full time clinical laboratory experience
  • Associates of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Or
  • Equivalent military training and 2 years of full time laboratory experience
  • Four (4) years of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing with a sound working knowledge of the area of supervision.

Licenses / Certifications : Preferred :

  • Certifications : American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or American Medical Technologists (AMT); or American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB).
  • About the Job :

  • Provides day to day technical supervision of the hospital laboratory.
  • Accessible to testing personnel for resolution of technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the Laboratory Director and / or the Medical Director.
  • Organizes and directs the daily activities of the laboratory. responsible for supervising laboratory staff, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, and collecting, analyzing and interpreting lab results.
  • This is considered a working supervisor. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks as assigned by the manager or director.
  • Must have hospital laboratory experience.
