Job description
Overview
The primary purpose of the Medical Technologist, Microbiology position is to independently
perform routine and complex laboratory analyses; assumes responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem solving, teaching
and supervision, under direction. Provides physicians with accurate and reliable analytical results necessary for the diagnosis / treatment
of patients.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient tests and provides results to physicians
- Performs "STAT" Procedures
- Performs maintenance procedures for equipment and prepares, monitors reagent supplies
- Evaluates and reports results to appropriate personneL
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology; ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
