Starting Pay : $11.25 hour

Job Description :

As the Ministry Specialist you will develop and deliver Service Extension ministries, overseeing day to day operations in assigned Service Extension Unit / County while ensuring the financial stability of the unit and the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do :

  • Ensure delivery of emergency material assistance complying with Salvation Army and funder's standards while remaining within budgetary limits
  • Accurately track and submit Salvation Army statistics per protocol
  • Oversee seasonal programming
  • Ensure effective delivery of all services available at the local Service Extension Unit
  • Engage, orient and manage sufficient volunteers to ensure effective delivery of services while maintain the standards of The Salvation Army and funders
  • Act as Kettle Campaign Coordinator for the assigned county to ensure a successful campaign or work closely with the volunteer Kettle Coordinator
  • Network with local service providers and community leaders
  • Continually reassess community needs, making service recommendations to the Regional Liaison
  • Prepare all financial paperwork for submission to assigned Regional Liaison
  • Set, schedule and lead quarterly advisory council meetings working with the Regional Liaison
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications : The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and / or abilities required for this position.

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required

Background Checks : Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience : Experience working with populations representative of the local community required; experience delivering emergency assistance and / or office experience

Certifications : Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills / Abilities :

  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.

    Physical Requirements Include :

  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May require bending, squatting, walking.
  • May require standing for extended
  • Travel : Within the county assigned and occasional travel outside of the county for trainings, conferences, etc.

    Working Conditions : Work is performed in remotely and a typical office environment; seasonal ministries may require some weekend and evening work
