The Physical Modeling team at Meta is dedicated to solving complex problems that are at the intersection of physical sciences, engineering, computational statistics, computer science, and mathematics. We collaborate closely with various research and engineering teams, with those focused on data centers and infrastructure, AI research, and social / environmental impacts. As a Research Scientist on our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, such as numerical modeling of data centers, designing advanced control systems, developing environmentally friendly materials, and monitoring CO2 capture efficiency methods using AI to name a few. To succeed in this role, you should have experience working with various engineering and science disciplines, statistics, and computational concepts. You should also have interest in understanding the nature of physical and engineering systems, as well as have the technical skills to implement the necessary computational algorithms to capture their complexities and behavior. Research Scientist, Modeling Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams and research scientists to identify business opportunities directly relevant to Meta's infrastructures and products
• Rapidly iterate to identify the optimal and deployable approach with a high chance of achieving the desired business outcome
• Implement appropriate modeling techniques to deliver effective solutions in multiple domains
• Interpret and communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders within the team and other business units
• Adhere to best software engineering practices, identifying and utilizing the most suitable internal and external tools and libraries
