St. Albert of Trapani Catholic Church, a diverse and vibrant community in Houston, Texas Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, is seeking a practicing Catholic with qualifications in music and liturgy for the position of full-time music director. Job Overview
This pivotal role requires an energetic person of faith with solid administrative and musical skills, a deep understanding of Roman Catholic liturgy, and experience as a pastoral musician in a Roman Catholic parish. The ideal candidate will also possess organ, piano, and directing skills, and most importantly, a strong commitment to their Catholic faith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following duties :
Must possess practical and excellent knowledge of playing piano and organs and teaching music.
Teach and lead weekly rehearsals for the choir
Provide training and formation to the newcomers to the choir.
Oversee weekends, holy days, and Christmas and Easter masses to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Participate in the liturgy planning process and music ministers' formation / scheduling / supervision.
Requirements include pastoral experience and proficiency in music.
