OVERVIEW

To assist in the cleaning, repairing and maintenance of district instruments; to deliver and pick-up district instruments for repair; and to maintain inventory and accurate recordkeeping of musical instruments.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High school education or equivalent; mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
• Two years repair experience in the repair, refurbishing and maintenance of musical instruments or any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
• Knowledge of repair procedures for band and orchestra instruments preferred
• Skilled in the use of repair tools (i.e. drill press, lathe, grinders, etc) and repair techniques
• Possess, or ability to obtain, valid Arizona driver’s license
• Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, E-mail, etc)
• Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, assess and perform needed repairs
• Ability to organize, prioritize, take initiative and meet deadlines with an accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions, change in assignments and minimum supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with teachers, students, district personnel at all levels, and outside agencies
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; to lift and / or carry up to 50 pounds
