You have 1-2 years of experience as a music teacher and / or teaching assistant. You are able to instruct beginning and intermediate level music classes You are excited to teach music classes for ages preschool through adult. You have a positive attitude and previous experience with varying ages and diverse populations. You firmly believe that the arts should be open to everyone regardless of artistic ability, experience, or financial circumstance. You are able and willing to take Child Abuse prevention on the first day as well as other online and in-person trainings as required. Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act). The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Music Instructor to join our team.
TheYMCAfocuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
As a Music Instructor , you will be responsible for creating an enjoyable learning environment to inspire students and help them develop a strong foundation of music and instrument skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Developing lesson plans
- Demonstrating sound, technical and artistic principles
- Providing an impactful experience to students
- Monitoring student progress
- Communicating program information to students and parents

Wage : $16.66 - $17.16 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours : Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
