As a Regional Sales Manager - National Retail, you will be responsible for formulating and executing the business strategy in your region and are responsible for managing a sales team focused on supporting and growing Simpson's market share in the national accounts market segment. The national retail market segment encompasses all large national retail customers such as Home Depot and Lowe's as well as Co-Op customers such as Do It Best.

We are driven by an unwavering commitment to achieving results and by individuals who think creatively and embody our core values.The leader for this market segment will actively engage with each team member consistently, being present for daily calls, visiting potential customers, and providing ongoing coaching to enhance sales skills. The ideal candidate will conduct regular quarterly ride-along / work-withs's with every team member in the field.

This role requires a strong commitment to traveling throughout the northwest. Wh i l e p e rform i ng supervisory responsibilities , the employee mu s t re p re s ent t he c o m p a n y in the utmost professional m a nn er a n d in acc o rda n ce w i t h t h e or g an i z a t i o n 's p o l i cies, procedures, a n d applicable laws; especially when ad d r e ssing c o m p l a i nt s, reso l v ing problems, a n d all other supervisory responsibilities.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Mentor and develop the sales team representatives, r e s p o n s i b il i t i es include b u t are not limited to the following : i n terviewing, hir i n g , determining sales salaries and commissions, training, and establishing expectations and goals for territory sales representatives; planning, assig n i n g, delegating a n d directi n g w o rk; appra i s i n g p e rfor m an c e by observing, monitoring and evaluating sales team member performance and progress; coaching, engaging, empowering, retaining, r e warding, a n d disciplining employees according to their unique interests, strengths and goals; cultivating a spirit of teamwork among members of the sales department and other departments; planning and execution of sales meetings; achieving sales goals, growing market share and improving profitability. (60%)

Develop and maintain positive relationships with management at key customers by regularly meeting with customers to conduct business review and development planning while focusing on promoting Simpson products and services and prospecting for additional product development ideas to service the customer and market. (15%)

Perform and review sales analyses at customer and regional levels to identify trends and needs, gauge performance, and recognize potential opportunities as well as create and implement plans to best achieve the desired results.Establish and monitor budgets and expenses.Keep up to date with industry and market segment trends and news.Collaborate with other Regional Sales Managers to develop consistent programs and processes and continuously review to improve them. Implement and improve pricing and profitability, approve customer A / P, freight terms, and rebates. (15%)

Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, the creation and coordination of projects and promotions with other departments, branches, and market segments. Manage sales forecast of products throughout their product life cycle. Create incentive plans to grow all product lines. Represent the company at tradeshows and other industry events.Create, maintain and evaluate all regional planograms to optimize customer sales. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A / B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • 3 years sales management experience
  • 5 years related experience
  • Mathematic Reasoning : Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Speaking : Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Reading Comprehension : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Writing : Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
  • Analysis / Reasoning : Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Relationship Building : Ability to maintain an open, approachable manner, and treat others respectfully.
  • Coaching & Mentoring : Ability to make or elicit specific suggestions for improvement in a manner that builds confidence and maintains self-esteem.
  • Leadership : Ability to see the potential in others and take opportunities to apply and develop that potential.
  • Technology : Proficient with standard business technology tools including, but not limited to, smartphones, computers, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), SAP, and Salesforce CRM.
  • Organization & Prioritization : Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously as well as quickly reallocate resources in order to respond to changing customer and team member needs.
  • Staff Management : Ability to ensure staff have the skills and resources to get things done.
  • Driving Record : A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers / scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

TRAVEL

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in our Northwest territory; any location in our Northwest territory will be considered.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

105,000 - $178,500 / year
