Job descriptionBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field 3 to 5 years' experience in the natural gas transportation industry a MUST. Strong understanding of natural gas contract management, nominations, scheduling, and invoicing processes. Experience working with shippers, operators, and capacity release projects. Ability to analyze and translate business needs into actionable requirements. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with business and technical teams. Proficiency in business analysis tools, documentation, and reporting. Strong analytical and data management skills with proficiency in statistical tools. Knowledge of FERC regulations and natural gas pipeline operations. Ability to present complex data clearly. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. Experience with SCADA systems and energy market data. Familiarity with ISO-NE and regional power load forecasting. Advanced Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Experience with pipeline operations, transportation management systems, or gas measurement tools. Familiarity with FERC and industry regulations related to natural gas transportation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The Natural Gas Capacity Analyst will play a critical role in supporting operational and commercial functions across three key areas Volume Data Management, Recurring Regulatory Reports and Filings, and Commercial Deal Support and Backup.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Collect and standardize operational data for consistency, including SCADA inputs, pipeline nominations vs. scheduled volumes, weather forecasts, and power load data.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and insights; present findings through daily reports highlighting operational and commercial observations.
- Factor in operational constraints across multiple pipelines when analyzing data.
- Develop and maintain AI-driven systems to enhance business intelligence and decision-making.
- Compile pipeline flow and financial data to support FERC filings (Annual, Quarter and Monthly)
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of filings in compliance with regulatory deadlines
- Assist with deal entry and contract management for Short-Term Firm Transportation (STFT), Long-Term Firm Transportation (LTFT), Park and Loan Service (PALS), Interruptible Transport (IT), and Operational Balancing Agreements (OBA).
- Validate contract details and provide backup support to the Director of Capacity Services for ongoing sales activities.
