Job Title: Landfill Gas Technician
Job Description
Join our team to work on projects related to landfill gas collection and control systems. You will play a vital role in monitoring and maintaining gas extraction systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to prevent the release of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain landfill gas collection and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Prevent the release of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
- Identify and locate gas or O2 leaks in pipelines and systems to ensure safety and system integrity.
- Conduct pressure tests on gas systems to check for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
- Repair and maintain gas valves to ensure correct operation.
- Utilize gas analyzers to measure and monitor gas concentrations.
- Enter and upload data into the system at the end of each day.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in monitoring and tuning the wellfield
- Experience with pump maintenance
- Experience in maintaining and repairing gas pipelines (HDPE pipe fusion) is a plus.
- Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
- Ability to conduct pressure tests on gas systems.
- Skills in using gas analyzers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with methane and landfill gas systems.
- Familiarity with Envisions or GEM 5000 meters.
- Proficiency in data entry and meter reading software.
- Experience in environmental field and environmental engineering.
Work Environment
The role involves working outside in the elements and quite a bit of walking on a landfill slope. You'll be part of a team of eight technicians and will work in pairs when monitoring systems. At the end of the day, data entry and uploading are required. The dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans, and PPE provided by the employer. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
