Job Title : Sr. IT Network Systems Administrator
Primary Location : Hybrid- 3 days in Hoffman Estates
Position Type : Direct Hire
Salary $115K to 130K base
Overview
Senior Network Systems Admin with our premier client. This is a direct hire role that is 3 days hybrid in Hoffman Estates.
The Senior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of the organization's computer systems and networks. This role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, providing technical support to end-users, and leading a team of systems administrators. The Senior Systems Administrator also plays a key role in identifying and implementing IT best practices and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in system administration, with a focus on progressively more complex responsibilities.
- 5+ years of experience managing, configuring, and administrating LAN and WLAN controller, switches, and router technologies. Cisco experience is a plus.
- Management experience with antivirus, VPN, Entra ID, and MDM.
- Experience with CrowdStrike, Cisco AnyConnect, and Microsoft Intune are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server), virtualization technologies, and cloud computing platforms.
- Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate) are a plus.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to using ITIL-like processes and supporting applications in a disciplined way to ensure timely and accurate services, and reliable infrastructure environment information.
- Ability to read, interpret, and relay technical information procedures and policies.
- Ability to deal with confidential information reliably and securely.
- Attentive to details and drives for appropriate precision in analysis and execution.
- Effective and precise written and verbal communication skills.

What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
Lead and mentor a team of systems administrators, providing guidance and training.
Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Ensure compliance with relevant IT regulations, standards, and security policies.
Participate in the on-call rotation, to provide service for critical outages.
