WGRZ , the TEGNA?owned NBC affiliate in Buffalo, NY is seeking an innovative Producer who doesn't just stack shows but innovates in their studio storytelling to shape our daily newscasts. At WGRZ 2 On Your Side , we build creative shows that engage, educate and inform our audiences. We prioritize original storytelling and investigative journalism as key components of our newscasts to set our product apart in the Buffalo market. Responsibilities

• Write on?air news content in an engaging, conversational, authentic and accurate manner.
• Line?produce daily news shows.
• Use your natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories.
• Develop original content ideas through social listening and independent sources.
• Show off your creativity and storytelling skills.
• Craft stories of all lengths on all platforms for specific audiences.
• Research for facts and credibility.
• Use creative and contemporary production techniques to enhance story presentation.
• Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience.
• Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events.
• Consistently try new things after thoughtful discussion with supervisors.
• Allow the impactful and emotional conversations the community needs to drive the content in your rundown.
• Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show.
• Challenge traditional ways of doing things.
• Advocate for underrepresented people, communities and viewpoints to have a voice and presence in your show.

Requirements

Pay Range : $28.50 $30 USD

TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families. TEGNA offers two medical plan options for full and part?time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, as well as access to dental and eye care coverage; fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance; disability and life insurance.

Our 401(k) program offers full, part?time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% 80% of their pay on a pre?tax basis to TEGNAs 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctors appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
