Job descriptionMaintain assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, laptop editors, and associated gear; initiate repairs when necessary. Physically able to carry, shoulder, and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25‑35 lbs) and support equipment (tripod, lights, microphones, etc.). Work assigned schedules which may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a clean driving record. Proven news judgment and writing skills. In‑house technical experience (ENG Receive, Floor Directing). Strong breaking news skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV, the CBS News and Stations owned and operated television station in Boston, is seeking an expert and dedicated Photojournalist / Editor. Candidates should have a strong dedication to creative and visual storytelling with excellent videography and editing skills, and the ability to produce daily content from the field independently or with partners. A desire to learn new technologies, assist live shots, and support assignments is essential.
Qualifications
- Photojournalists applying for this position must have non‑linear editing experience, knowledge of file‑based video transfer, and experience as a News Photographer / Editor.
- Must have the knowledge and ability to operate live bonded cellular technology (Dejero and LiveU).
- ENG and SNG live truck experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and the capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a medium to large television market.
