From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include :
- Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how department performance positively or negatively affects plant results.
- Develops actions to meet or otherwise exceed plant KPIs.
- Displays great people skills and encourages team performance, individual growth, and positive attitude.
- Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating, establishing, and enforcing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
- Applies all environmental and safety regulations and ensure they are respected.
- Takes necessary measures if people are performing unsafe acts or are in an unsafe environment.
- Understands the production and packaging processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Works closely with operations and maintenance staff to troubleshoot equipment, resolve breakdowns, and improve preventative maintenance programs.
- Identifies strengths and weaknesses of employees; trains, coaches, and motivates employees to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths.
- Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely, and professional manner (phone calls / texts, daily reporting, paperwork, meetings, ordering supplies, employee evaluations).
- Meets regularly with supervisors and on shift leaders to communicate regarding all issues arising in the department.
- Consistently monitors floor activities in the department including personnel and processes, course correcting when necessary.
- Assists in organizing the packaging and production departments regarding equipment, staffing, and raw materials to meet the demand for the plant.
- Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions or changes in equipment operation, organization, or procedures.
- Conducts process investigations, simulations, and compares results.
- Assists with trials of machinery, products, processes, etc as necessary.
- Ensures that product is packed to specifications and takes corrective action immediately when necessary.
- Works closely with Quality and Food Safety Team to ensure the quality and specifications of products are continually being met.
- Takes necessary measures when there is deviation from policies and standards.
- Acts to continuously improve process targets and shift performance.
- Participates in customer and Food Safety audits.
- Assists in verifying food safety records of the department as necessary. Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following : Education
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or technical school Experience
- 3 - 4 years related manufacturing leadership experience
- Food production and packaging, or related experience Specialized Knowledge
- Computer software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, Dairy processing a plus Skills / Abilities
- People Leadership
- Basic algebra
- Curiosity and desire to apply learning
- Flexibility Professional Certifications
- PCQI or HACCP a plus
