Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Long Beach, California. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in nonprofit accounting and financial management, as well as experience handling multi-entity financials. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring financial compliance, preparing reports, and supporting strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including forecasts and detailed reports.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and financial management across multiple entities.
- Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends and recommend operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining transparency across all activities.
- Lead and coordinate audit processes, preparing necessary documentation and ensuring completion.
- Manage grant finances by generating precise reports for various funding sources.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to collect, verify, and manage financial data.
- Monitor and document inter-company financial transactions to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Support strategic financial planning and initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with nonprofit audit expertise.
- Must have Non-Profit industry experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of multi-entity financials, including separate books, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Proficiency in audit processes, including single-asset audits.
- Advanced skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounts payable / receivable management, and budget oversight.
- Experience managing grants and preparing financial reports for diverse funding sources.
- Ability to work independently with minimal training on real estate and property financials.
