Job description

Analytical & Method Validation Chemist – Denver, CO

Type : Contract (6 months, potential for extension)

Shift : M-F 1st Shift

Pay Rate : $35-$38 / hr

The Analytical and Method Validation Chemist conducts complex scientific analyses to detect and quantify various compounds using GC-ECD, ion chromatography, and GCMS. The role involves designing and conducting validation studies, supporting new technologies, and maintaining lab equipment. The chemist ensures quality assurance standards, trains other staff and contributes to collaborative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and analyze samples using advanced techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals and maintain instrument functionality.
  • Guide and train others in analytical testing.
  • Develop and validate analytical methods and SOPs.
  • Conduct literature searches and generate validation data.
  • Train staff on new methods and carry out validation studies.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical equipment.
  • Verify and record equipment functionality.
  • Schedule and perform equipment calibration and maintenance.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in analytical chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience in performing and validating EPA methods
  • Previous experience with GC-ECD, ion chromatography, and GCMS is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in sample preparation and analysis using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality assurance standards and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Experience in method development, validation, and preparation of SOPs.
  • Ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments.
