Academic position with the nation's best hospital. This will be a consultative practice. Best way to describe this position is as an outpatient hospitalist practice. The team sees patients who come from all over the world. Patients coming to Rochester MN are seeking a second opinion and start with this division. The physician "quarterbacks" their care, does the initial appointment and then assigns what specialty tests, exams, other physicians the patients need to meet with.

This is a consultative, non primary care practice Monday - Friday, limited call (like once every six months and it is pager only, not onsite) Typically have 45 minutes to -1 hour for the initial appointment and determine what tests, evaluations, specialty physicians they want the patients to see The patients then go have their appointments and come back to the GIM physician who, in consultation with specialists if needed, determines a diagnosis Patient schedule allows for adequate time for rewarding patient care interactions Access to prompt consults from world-renowned subspecialists, laboratory and radiology experts Collegial atmosphere and ample support from allied health professionals to enhance the practice experience Competitive compensation package including generous vacation and trip benefits Inpatient and outpatient teaching opportunities, interacting with exceptional internal medicine residents and medical students
