Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $60.00/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a leading diagnostic imaging team in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technologist to work in a patient-centered, high-performing environment while utilizing advanced imaging technology and best-in-class safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine imaging procedures for diagnostic interpretation
  • Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory and safety standards
  • Verify patient identity, obtain informed consent, and assess for contraindications prior to procedures
  • Determine appropriate dosage based on patient-specific factors including age, weight, and clinical condition
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and imaging techniques to achieve high-quality diagnostic images
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and timely intervention if needed
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
  • Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment, including RIS and PACS systems
  • Maintain exam room readiness, inventory supplies, and support efficient workflow
  • Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology program
  • Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) required
  • Current CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT (N) certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of nuclear medicine or radiology experience
  • Experience with IV starts and quality control procedures preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, physics, and radiation safety standards
  • Proficiency with RIS/PACS systems and electronic medical records
  • BLS certification preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills
