When you join us as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist , you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders- patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes.
You Will :
- Performs high quality nuclear medicine and / or positron emission tomography / computed tomography images on patients while providing excellent care.
- Assures proper dose of radionuclides are ordered for each patient.
- Starts intravenous lines or performs straight stick venipuncture for isotope injection.
- Administers radionuclide in a safe and effective manner.
- Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients, guiding them through a sometimes difficult process by gently talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
- Monitors patients’ well- being during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
- Maintains a nuclear medicine information system for all patient dosing, calibration, receiving and disposition, and all regulatory reports required by the RAM license.
- Under the direction of the radiologist, administers radiopharmaceuticals to detect or treat diseases using radioisotopes.
- Demonstrates a high level of competency and ensures team members are safeguarding patient property and Patient Health Information.
- Responsible for safeguarding on-site medications following Company policies, procedures, and any legal requirements and ensures employee adherence to on-site medication policies
- Demonstrates and ensures team members a high level of respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on-site or on patient portals.
- Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
- Demonstrates high-level respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions, including team members' interactions with one another.
