Village Super Market’s New York Division, a fast-growing manufacturer and retailer of fresh prepared foods in the tristate area, is looking for a Plant Manager to join our leadership team as we continue to build a “best in class” food manufacturing and fulfillment operation. As Plant Manager, you will provide strategic operational leadership while immersing yourself in the trenches to optimize productivity, promote growth, encourage innovation and drive continuous improvement and change. The Plant Manager will :
Direct all aspects of plant operations, including procurement, production, packaging, maintenance, planning and logistics activities, to safely ensure the delivery of high-quality products in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Ensure food quality and safety standards are in place and the plant maintains compliance with all federal, state and local food safety requirements.
Own the P&L, increase profitability, and deliver results.
Develop and lead a Lean Manufacturing culture that powers continuous improvement activities and minimizes inbound, inventory, production, waste and overhead costs.
Think creatively, and encourage the development and successful execution of innovation projects across multiple product types.
Partner with cross-functional teams.
Cultivate collaborative environment, lead by example, cascade expectations, create accountability, and support your team in achieving goals and meeting KPI’s.
Your strengths should include :
Ability to provide strong leadership and guidance to the entire manufacturing team, at all levels.
Ability to develop, implement, and maintain processes and systems that result in improved efficiencies and operational excellence.
Comprehensive background in P&L management and demonstrated fiscal responsibility
Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and its application
Must have thorough knowledge of HACCP / GMP / Food Safety Plans, sanitation, plant auditing, FDA, SQF (preferred) or BRC, and USDA production requirements.
Experience leading a USDA facility SQF Level 1 or 2 preferred.
Excellent communications, project management and leadership skills.
