Compensation Range : $20.16 through $28.65 hourly
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION : Assist in the coordination and technical assistance necessary to support a Title I School in planning and implementing effective parent engagement activities to improve student academic achievement and school performance. Work to strengthen the role of parents by increasing opportunities for meaningful engagement in the education of their children. Work with community partners to refine existing and foster new collaborative relationships with outside organizations to enhance student learning and provide growth opportunities for students in the Title I school.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
1. Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
2. Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

5. Collaborate with personnel in the District's Family and Community Engagement department to develop strategies, activities, and resources in concert with District goals and plans.
6. Maintain security of confidential information.
7. Prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
8. Present and facilitate meetings attended by diverse groups of stakeholders within the Title I school.
9. Build the school's capacity for parent and community engagement.
10. Promote the importance of parent engagement with school personnel (e.g. principals, teachers, and building staff) for the purpose of providing effective methods and tools for working with parents as effective partners.
11. Communicate district, school, and community resources to parents to improve student success.
12. Participate in conferences and other meetings regarding student academic success.
13. Be aware of social problems that affect the families and be able to help alleviate the problems that impact student academic success.
14. Schedule and implement new community-based programs, partnerships, and other engagement initiatives to parents and school personnel.
15. Create and maintain database of community organizations, businesses, volunteers, and student ambassador tours in support of parent and community engagement, parent contacts, community contact, parent events, parent focus groups, and parent workshops.
16. Collaborate with principals and parent groups to develop initiatives that foster family-friendly school climates and help promote family events in schools or other district initiatives that benefit students.
17. Work with a caseload of students identified as academically at risk.
18. Provide support to the school student ambassadors through student ambassador training and by organizing tours for community members, potential parents, new students, and district staff.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate degree preferred.
High School Diploma with experience in public relations, education, or social work and two years' experience in community outreach, parent education, and event organization required.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
