To serve as an Army Family Nurse Practitioner and officer, you will support the military community with the highest level of quality primary care, performing physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and patient referrals. You will make an immediate difference in your patient’s lives and gain experience while serving alongside other medical professionals. As a licensed, independent provider, you will practice both autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals. You may serve as a clinical leader of integrated teams, health care researchers, interdisciplinary consultants, process improvements advisors, and patient advocates. As a role model for the specialty, you will provide leadership to improve clinical outcomes, utilizing analytics to support evidence-based practice and the innovation of enhancing patient care. And, you may have opportunities to expand your responsibilities and authority through advanced education and experiences.
