The hours of operation for the Gastroenterology clinic are Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients. What does an RN do? As a RN, you will provide patient care under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner or other advanced practice provider. What does a typical day on the job look like? Accurate and timely in carrying out specific verbal or written orders (possibly in the form of protocols or standing orders) generated and signed by a physician. Competently assesses and counsels' patients. Administers medication and treatment and performs procedures, as prescribed by a physician. Efficiently schedules patient procedures. Correctly and appropriately relays test preparation instructions, hospital registration requirements, and physician instructions to patients in a timely manner. Thoroughly educates and explains procedures and treatment plan to patients and caregivers. Competently assists providers to maximize patient volume. Returns patient calls in a timely manner. Documents patient care accurately and timely. Performs EMR tasks correctly and timely. Works and communicates effectively with all providers. Coordinates and assists in the delivery of a plan of health care with all care team members. Promotes teamwork. Providers great customer service in person and on the telephone. Providers great customer service in person and on the telephone. What are the requirements for the job? Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Current Missouri Registered Nurse license. Minimum 2 years of experience in a physician's office setting, preferred. Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association. Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
