Job Duties: Harvest plants, transplant or pot and label. Operate tractors, skid steer, forklift, mini excavator, loader and various farm equipment, harrow and fertilize soil, plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Set up and operate irrigation equipment, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements and mechanical equipment, monitor health of crops, transport harvest crops to nursery store front, deliver crops to customers & other related Nursery Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).
Worker must be available and willing to work the entire season.
Worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions.
Employer maintains a drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free workplace. Upon hire, workers may be subject to random drug testing at no cost to the worker. A positive test result or failure to comply with testing requirements may result in immediate termination of employment.
Employer may require a post-hire criminal background check at no cost to the worker.
Minimum Education Required
No High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience Required
One (1) month of experience relevant to the job is required.
Worker must be able to exert maximum physical effort to lift, push, pull, unload, and carry objects weighing up to eighty (80) pounds, with two-person assistance as needed. The position requires the ability to climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, clean equipment, and ground area for extended periods.
Worker must be able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures.
Worker must be able to obtain a valid U.S. Driver’s License within two (2) weeks of reporting to work and must possess and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) throughout employment.
Worker has three (3) days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
