Responsibilities
Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for our Nursing Coordinator position.
The Nursing Coordinator provides support and assistance to the Chief Nursing Office (CNO) and all other members of the Nursing Leadership Team such as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), The Infection Control Nurse, the Nurse Educator and the Managers, and Supervisors with the department's administrative activities. Coordinates various administrative processes and projects. This position provides the full range of administrative support activities for the Nursing Department and requires a professional who is collaborative and knows how to work with confidential information.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Answer / return phone calls for DON and ADON, manage mail and correspondence as needed.
- Collects, reviews, and analyzes data, prepares reports and other presentation materials.
- Distributes reports and other communications as needed and required.
- Maintains files, electronic data, and archives records consistent with the hospitals retention policy such as but not limited to :
- Team reports.
- Assignment sheets.
- Miscellaneous nursing department forms.
- Schedules and coordinates meetings and other group meetings / activities as needed, including meeting minutes.
- Purchases medical and office supplies consistent with hospital policy, ensuring necessary supplies are always maintained.
- Orders medical equipment in nursing department, requesting service / inspections as needed in collaboration with respective nursing leaders.
- Supports payroll management with the Staffing team. Wills serve as staffer in absence of the team.
- Provides updates to Nursing leaders regarding attendance concerns are identified, intervene directly with staff as directed.
- Supports Nursing Leaders in corrective action documentation regarding absences, tardies, no call / no shows, refusals of mandations, personal conduct and other policy violations.
- May support Interviews and recommendation of hire as needed.
- Assists in the coordination of department new hire orientation as needed.
- Assists in coordination of new employee performance evaluations.
- Facilitates tele-health visits between patients and physicians as needed and required.
- Acts as the liaison between Nursing Admin, HR, and Nursing department employees.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
