Job descriptionFive years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or ambulatory care setting Two years of experience serving as a supervisory nurse or in another capacity that involves clinical oversight of other nurses or medical staff A valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state A Bachelor of Nursing or higher may substitute for one year of the nursing experience requirement Nursing experience in a correctional setting Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) Provides direct supervision for 24 / 7 clinical staff Maintains clinic compliance with NCCHC standards In partnership with nursing executive leadership, communicates and drives operational improvement Coaches, mentors and trains nursing staff Provides on-site orientation to new staff Responds to clinical emergencies Develops productivity and performance standards Develops clinic assignments and duties of nursing staff Provides direct clinical care to patients Develops clinic-specific operating procedures Reviews nursing documentation and Electronic Health Record queues Ensures that equipment and supplies are available Communicates with nursing staff through regularly scheduled monthly staff meetings Assures that all mandatory training and other requirements are completed Participates in the interviewing, selection, orientation, and training of nursing staff Position includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays Ability to work inside a jail and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift Ability to travel or float to various clinical locations within a 5-mile radius Ability to handle a high volume of work, communicate with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapt to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks Ability to respond to emergencies Must maintain CPR certification and First Aid certification, and get on the floor to perform CPR / chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney that may weigh up to 35 pounds Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and / or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive

Please note the anticipated schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with a swing shift that starts between 5 : 00PM and 6 : 30PM.
