The Goodwin University School of Applied Liberal Arts and of Social Sciences invites applications for the Assistant Professor of Psychology position. To be considered for this position, the applicant should have a master's degree in psychology and experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses.
Full-time faculty members at Goodwin University are responsible for upholding the highest academic standards in their fields. They teach 15 credit hours each semester, across three semesters a year, both on campus and online (synchronous and asynchronous). They are expected to stay informed about developments in their disciplines and teaching methods, participate in university, professional, and community service, and engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and learning.
Essential Job Functions / Primary Responsibilities :
Primary Teaching Responsibilities :
- Design and deliver course content through university-approved syllabi and Canvas course shells, ensuring curricular alignment, pedagogical effectiveness, and disciplinary currency
- Assess and document student learning outcomes according to established course guidelines
- Adapt teaching methods based on assessment data and student performance metrics
- Maintain required office hours and consistent class schedules
- Provide timely, constructive responses to student communications and concerns
- Submit accurate attendance records, grades, and required documentation by established deadlines
