Inova Alexandria Rehabilitation department is looking to add a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to our growing team. Ideal candidate will communicate effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts. Must be able to demonstrate essential skill in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities :

• Documents clearly, concisely, and legibly within established time frames, (e.g. allows other therapists to continue treatment, allows for interpretation by payers, and supports reimbursement) as evidenced by chart review and team feedback.
• Contributes to educational and training efforts of department / clinic, (e.g. in-services, students, CPR, new hire orientation, and QI / PI) as evidenced by program / clinic-specific documentation.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge about department expenses and revenue (e.g. supplies, equipment, billing, and staff resources) used in the department, as evidenced by team feedback and observation.
• Selects appropriate treatment methods for patients' diagnosis, age group, and physical and emotional status, as evidenced by observation and documentation.
• Recognizes the need for alterations in the treatment method and overall plan as the patient advances or regresses while acting accordingly, as evidenced by observation, documentation, and team feedback.
• Notifies primary PT / OT of non-routine changes in the treatment situation, discharge complications, or other circumstances that require reassessment or staff guidance, as evidenced by team feedback.
