Description
The Staenberg–Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve, strengthen, and inspire the community guided by timeless Jewish values.
For over 100 years, the JCC Denver has served the Greater Denver metro area through educational, social, and cultural programs that are rooted in Jewish values. The JCC creates a vibrant and inclusive social hub with program areas focused on fostering connection, community, and well-being that includes : a robust aquatics, fitness, and tennis center, an early learning school, family and early childhood programs, arts and culture, day and overnight camps, and engagement programming for teens, young adults, seniors, and diverse communities.
The Staenberg-Loup JCC seeks a strategic and skilled Chief Development Officer (CDO) who will oversee the organization's goal of generating annual philanthropic revenue of $3.5M+, as well as additional funds for capital and special projects. Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the leadership team, Board, development committee, and volunteers, the CDO has direct responsibility overseeing the Development Department to ensure fundraising strategy is in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives. The CDO will ensure that all fund development efforts support building a strong donor base through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship of donors through all fundraising activities to include major gifts, planned gifts, annual giving, grant management, endowments, corporate / foundation support, and special events. A successful candidate will be a collaborative and innovative thought leader, with a forward-thinking approach, and will bring the latest proven practices to fundraising efforts of the JCC.
- In partnership with the C-Suite and other department directors, create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that drives impactful giving, aligns with the JCC's mission and values, and establishes measurable goals with clear accountability for success.
- Oversee the development department budget; optimize resources to ensure effective execution of fundraising activities.
- Supervise the development staff of 3 : Director of Major & Corporate Giving, Major Gifts Officer, Development Coordinator.
- Direct all stages of identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, ongoing stewardship, gift processing, and pledge tracking.
- Manage a portfolio of donors and cultivate, solicit & steward a select group of major donors.
- Effectively track, quantify, and report on donor data, goals, and outcomes across all departments.
- Identify funding priorities and opportunities to create a compelling case for giving.
- Lead strategy of digital engagement for fundraising.
- Co-manage solicitation assignments for Board of Directors.
- Support the CEO in the Board training process to ensure the Board's understanding and commitment to their role in fundraising.

The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The JCC proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits eligible employees. We also provide additional voluntary benefit plans.
The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. The JCC matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.
Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in their first year of service. The JCC also provides paid holidays and benefits-eligible employees are awarded up to 4 additional "Floating Holidays" per year, prorated based on date of hire. After two years employment, senior level staff (Directors and above) qualify for the JCC unlimited paid time off program (details and policies to be discussed during hiring process).
