Job Title : Field Engineer III (Contingent Worker)

Location : Worksite-Based

Shift : Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Driving Required : Yes

Job Overview :

We are seeking a Field Engineer III to support high-level network transformation projects. This role is part of a highly visible team , ensuring network availability and service level attainment . The engineer will provide technical expertise in network optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting .

Key Responsibilities :

Install, optimize, and troubleshoot base station equipment, RF transmitters, and fiber networks .
Perform network testing and integration to bring new products online.
Conduct fault isolation, triage, and remediation for network events.
Use tools such as OTDR, fiberscopes, and spectrum analyzers for fiber and RF troubleshooting .
Support antenna system diagnostics from transmitter to antenna.
Create, update, and manage problem-tracking tickets for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with internal / external engineering teams for escalations and resolution.
Work closely with tower crews to coordinate installation schedules .
Provide technical assistance and training to customers and teams.

Must-Have Skills :

Strong knowledge of LAN / WAN technologies, switching fundamentals, and network architecture .

3+ years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and troubleshooting , including :

Nokia 7705 / 7250 / 7210 / 7750 and Ciena 6500

Samsung CDU30, FSU20, RF4439D, RF4440D-13A, CBRS RT4401, RT8808, MT6413-77A

Electrical troubleshooting experience with RAYCAP OVP, CommScope, or JMA Powershifts .

Hands-on experience with HPE e920t, e910t, or ZT hardware.

Dark and lit fiber testing expertise using tools like OTDR and fiberscopes .

Knowledge of RF troubleshooting, PIM interference, and RSSI analysis .

Ability to troubleshoot antenna systems using spectrum analyzers .

Experience with network event monitoring and escalation to engineering teams.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment .

Preferred Qualifications :

Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field .

Vendor management experience.

Understanding of LTE and 4G-to-5G technologies .

Network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP ) or equivalent.

Scripting skills in Python, Node.js, Perl, or similar languages .

Experience in PC hardware support and troubleshooting .

Ability to adapt to high-pressure environments and shifting priorities .

Strong team collaboration skills .

Physical Requirements :

Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work from elevated areas, lift and carry up to 65 lbs .

Must be comfortable with pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, twisting, crawling, squatting, or kneeling in confined spaces .
