SUMMARY : To create a flexible high school program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupils ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Teaches district-approved curriculum.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goalsestablishes clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Evaluates students academic and social growth keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students employees community members and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints ( IVP ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
- Reading and interpreting general documents such as employee handbooks and safety / training manuals.
- Writing general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
- Adding subtracting multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Principles and practices of program administration.
- Basic principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis.
- Best practices trends and emerging technologies.
- Principles and techniques of effective oral presentations.
- Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
- Specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment.
- Applying reason to research and solving moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
- Interpreting an assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.
- Performing basic original research to assist with developing teaching plans and instructional materials.
