Job Details

Accent on Languages, located in the Bay Area, is looking for linguists to fill virtual transcription and translating assignments. We have a contract with a client who is seeking translation and editing services for legal materials.

Service : The linguist will be provided video and / or audio material. The linguist will transcribe conversations verbatim and translate any words from target language into English.

Volume : The volume is on a need-basis. We are looking to organize our team of linguists over the next few weeks, and timelines can be flexible.

Languages needed : Amharic, Tigrinya, Somali, Swahili, Khmer, Thai, Yiddish, Hmong, Tamil, Malay, Lao, Polish, Urdu, Indonesian, Burmese, Samoan, French, German, Italian, Russian, Tamil, Yiddish, Oromo, Hawaiian, Ilocano, Chuukese, Marshallese, Tagalog, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, and others.

Qualifications

US Citizen, Green Card holder, or Permanent US Resident - applicant must live and work in the US at the time of the project.

Experience in Translation and / or Interpreting.

Security clearance.

Any certification is a plus, but not required. For example, a current voting member in good standing of the American Translators Association, and / or a current member in good standing of the American Association of Language Specialists, and / or a certified and registered interpreter on the Judicial Council Master List, and / or degree in Translation or Interpretation.
