R&DE Finance & Administration, which includes the Finance, Budget Management, and Vendor Management & Contracts teams, provides innovative and sound financial management, implements policies and procedures, provides strategic and long-range planning, and coordinates all aspects of purchasing, contracts, and vendor relationships.

This role is currently designated as hybrid and may provide incumbents with flexibility for partial telecommuting.

Job Purpose

Administer, support, and manage programs or functions under general supervision. This role reports into the Office of the Chief Finance Officer.

Core Duties

Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.

Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.

Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function.

Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.

Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.

Compose and draft documents and correspondence for presentations and reports; perform substantial editing and fact checking. Create, maintain, modify, and/or ensure accuracy of content in various unit documents, displays, reports, brochures, social media, and/or websites.

Plan and schedule calendar(s) with limited consultation, resolve calendaring conflicts, and arrange travel in compliance with unit and university policies.

Monitor Cardinal Temps reporting for accuracy, work with R&DE staff/managers to ensure reporting needs are met, and process requisitions as required.

Provide Commodity Management including but not limited to temporary labor, linens, laundry and shoes. Provide backup support for other commodities as requested. May administer contracts, assuring that terms and conditions are met within specifications.

Support procurement initiatives and strategic sourcing; drive to achieve continuous improvement in procurement process. May include identifying potential vendors, preparing Request for Quotations (RFQ), Requests for Proposals (RFP), conducting site visits, obtaining bids, preparing, and evaluating bids and negotiating with suppliers.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The expected pay range for this position is $87,529 - $95,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
