General Description :
The Maintenance Operator is an hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Operator is responsible for providing manufacturing support and performs routine maintenance duties including rough carpentry, painting and basic equipment or facility repairs. This position requires an individual with general maintenance and plumbing knowledge. The Maintenance Operator works with supervision from Maintenance Supervisor or other Maintenance Mechanics. Dependability and attention to detail are required characteristics. The maintenance work environment involves the handling of hazardous chemicals. The ability to use a personal respirator is required. The physical demands of this position may involve standing for extended periods as well as frequent lifting of items weighing up to 55 lbs.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Achieve daily and specific goals
- Provide maintenance support to other departments
- Provide cleaning services to the entire R.E. Darling facility as assigned
- Repair and upkeep of facilities equipment
- Practice safe and efficient work habits
Education and Experience Requirements :
Special Tasks and Focus Areas :
Complete daily tasks on time
Clean offices & common areas to include :
Empty trash
Mop floors
Work with maintenance mechanics in the performance of minor repair work of production or facilities equipment
Minor repair and upkeep of facilities equipment
Follow all REDAR rules and policies
