Job Summary
The Ophthalmic Technician II will be responsible for conducting ophthalmic technical support activities that assist the ophthalmologists, residents, and optometrists in delivering care to patients in the outpatient Eye Clinic.
Essential Functions :
- Performs ocular examinations, including history taking, visual acuity, ocular motility assessment, intraocular pressure measurement, manual lensometry, and pupillary assessment. (60%)
- Performs visual field testing, OCT, pachymetry, topography, A-scan biometry, and ocular photography. (10%)
- Performs advanced refractometry and records findings accurately for provider review. (5%)
Provides patient education on contact lens care, glasses, and medications. Instructs patients on insertion and removal of scleral and RGP lenses.
