As a member of the Electro Optic Infrared (EOIR) team, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting engineering activities associated with the development and maturation of EOIR solutions for the Lockheed Martin (LM) Aeronautics EOIR team. Responsibilities include defining, reviewing and documenting engineering requirements, performing engineering document reviews, reviewing specifications, coordinating with the Principal Engineers and other key stakeholders, and interfacing / coordinating with various internal-to-LM and external-to-LM customers. The selected candidate shall be required to employ their education and experience in engineering for planning, development, integration and validation of Electro Optic, Infrared and Laser Optic systems on military fighter aircraft to meet contract requirements. Key areas of focus are knowledge of US defense contract lifecycles, design, development, integration, test, verification and validation of military Electro Optic, Infrared and Laser systems.
The selected candidate will be required to prepare and give briefings as required to customers, technical leads and / or Lockheed Martin management. The candidate must possess exceptional people skills and oral and written communication skills. Minimal travel may be required to Customer facilities and Lockheed Martin sites.
The selected candidate must be a US citizen and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (including an investigation within the last 5 years). The selected candidate must have or be able to obtain at a minimum an interim DoD Secret prior to start of work, must maintain a DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a SAP / SAR clearance.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree or equivalent experience / combined education
- Experience with Optics, Electro-optics, Infrared, Lasers, RF, EW, Radar, Sensors or Avionics
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience / combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered : Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $107,300 - $185,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
