Job description

Fusion HCR is hiring! Direct hire, SQL Database Administrator, Hybrid in Las Vegas NV.

We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. This role involves deploying, configuring, managing, and optimizing SQL environments and related technologies. While the primary focus is SQL administration, experience with other technologies such as MongoDB and RabbitMQ is a plus. Gaming industry experience is also highly desirable.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Deploy, configure, manage, and optimize SQL databases to support applications and products across various teams.
  • Maintain high availability and performance of SQL environments, ensuring system stability and reliability.
  • Perform database tuning, optimization, backup, recovery, and replication processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members in an agile environment to develop and support application features and functions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Monitor database performance and proactively address potential bottlenecks or issues.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of data storage solutions that align with company standards and objectives.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of database processes and standards within the organization.

Preferred Technical Environment :

  • SQL, T-SQL, SSMS
  • Azure SQL Database and related Azure services
  • MongoDB and RabbitMQ
  • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Kubernetes / Docker for containerization
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • Azure DevOps for CI / CD pipelines
  • Logging frameworks and monitoring tools
  • Active Directory
  • Virtualization platforms such as Nutanix or VMware

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL DBA in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing SQL databases, including installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of additional platforms and tools, such as MongoDB and RabbitMQ, is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and best practices.
  • Experience in agile team environments, with familiarity in Kanban principles preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations as required.

    • Desirable Skills :

  • Experience in the gaming industry.
  • Familiarity with database security best practices.
  • Certification in database administration or related fields.
