JOB SUMMARY :
Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for an Order Picker to be responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products.
Hours are Monday through Friday (7 : 30am - 4pm)
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Performs a variety of general duties including picking and packing, loading, unloading and proper storage of food products.
- Uses pallets as food is pulled from the shelves.
- Shrink-wraps and tags skids for delivery
- Unloads food donations from food drives and individuals as needed.
- Develops and provides receipts to donors.
- Ensures that first-expired-first-out methodology is used for each order transaction.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution and warehouse areas.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
- Participates in special projects at the request of the Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Certifications : High School Diploma / GED Required. Food Safety Certification or be able to become certified by the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.
Experience : Minimum of one year of warehouse experience including use of forklift (propane and electric), electric pallet jacks / riders (4ft and 8ft) is required. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices, procedures, and scanning equipment.
Skills / Competencies : Must have excellent customer skills and mathematical skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
JOB CONDITIONS :
Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to : perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack.). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
