BlockSan Francisco, CA, United StatesBlock is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
The Role
As an Organizational Development (OD) Consultant on the Performance & Growth team, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of programs and practices that foster continuous performance and growth for our people and organizations. Reporting to the Talent Management Lead, you will collaborate with stakeholders, apply talent management expertise, and contribute to initiatives that drive alignment between talent strategies and business goals.
This role provides a unique opportunity to deepen your skills in talent management and organizational development while contributing to Block’s mission of economic empowerment.
You Will
- Partner with team members, HR colleagues, and business stakeholders to support and deliver talent management initiatives that align with organizational priorities.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and / or project manager (PM) to facilitate the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of performance management components such as evaluations, feedback, promotions, goal-setting, and reporting, while ensuring effective execution and alignment with business needs.
- Utilize strong Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) and basic data programming knowledge to take our reporting to the next level through gathering, manipulating, and analyzing data, driving actionable insights to measure program outcomes that inform decision-making and enhance talent strategies.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on talent management best practices and data analysis to enhance programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and use of tools, methodologies, and frameworks to evaluate and improve talent management program effectiveness.
- Assist in implementing change-management strategies, including developing communication and readiness materials to support the adoption of new talent programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate Block’s cultural values and employee experience priorities into talent initiatives.
You Have
We’re working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace. Block is an equal opportunity employer evaluating all employees and job applicants without regard to identity or any legally protected class.
We believe in being fair, and are committed to an inclusive interview experience, including providing reasonable accommodations to disabled applicants throughout the recruitment process. We encourage applicants to share any needed accommodations with their recruiter, who will treat these requests as confidentially as possible.
Block will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment in accordance with state and local laws and “fair chance” ordinances.
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
