Synergetics is recruiting for Organizational Design Consultants . These positions are within our Business Services consulting segment. Desired candidates would have management consulting experience as well as demonstrated experience completing detailed organizational design analysis and transformations. Prospective candidates would be able to perform thoughtful evaluations on our client companies including census information, current organizational design, respective spans and layers, value-added service drivers, P&L / cost center review, location / geographic strategy, productivity and utilization analysis, and offer solutions for operational and financial improvements.

Desired outcomes and the process that the consultants engage in will streamline the client’s organization, accelerate communication and empower faster decision-making, limit compensation inflation, reduce labor costs, increase productivity and utilization, increase accountability, increase empowerment and ultimately the overall profitability and success of our client organizations. This position will require around 50% travel.

We are searching for an Organizational Design and Optimization Consultant.

  • Identifying and leading operational or financial improvements by analysis of client’s data and aligning resources to most effectively support our client’s business
  • Conduct organizational assessments and analysis to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for change
  • Identify value-added service drivers and align resources to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Design potential organizational changes and impact to internal and external client experience
  • Develop accountability frameworks to support organization changes to meet internal and external service level agreements
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving the structure, processes, and systems within an organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement organizational changes, such as restructuring, process redesign, or technology integration
  • Provide expertise and guidance on organizational behavior, change management, and workforce planning
  • Communicate with employees at all levels to ensure understanding and buy-in for new organizational design initiatives
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of organizational changes to ensure alignment with overall business goals
  • Develop Span of Control (SoC) Model to analyze spans and layers within an organization
  • Benchmark SoC by function / department
  • Set targets for improvement in SoC, Layering, and departmental alignment
  • Identify SoC variance and quantify financial improvement opportunity
  • Identify compensation outliers by level and layer
  • Identify right-shoring opportunities and quantify financial benefits
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and trends in organizational design to continually improve processes and strategies

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to understand the current state of their business and establish positive relationships that build credibility
  • Gather and analyze relevant data, conduct client interviews, and visit facilities to observe operations first-hand
  • Identify and catalog problems, challenges, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop performance metrics and construct reports that effectively represent current state and desired future state
  • Develop and evaluate alternative strategies to achieve specific savings objectives
  • Create and utilize workplans to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks with a high sense of urgency across one or more workstreams
  • Create reports and presentations for use in communicating findings to client management and implementation teams; present “the story”
  • Collaborate with clients to define requirements for tools, systems, and processes; recommend design improvements; then, provide implementation oversight including creating documentation, delivering training, and coaching
  • Work in a hands-on mode until potential alternatives are exhausted and future state procedural workstreams are in place, evaluated, and fully functioning
  • Collaborate with project team members / clients to design and implement effective solutions to complex business problems; continuously evaluating to uncover new opportunities with the client
  • Interact with peers to foster your support network, and empower career development
  • Required Experience and Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of management consulting, professional services, and industry with relevant experience and understanding of organizational design, span of control, layering optimization, change management and implementation of identified changes
  • Proven critical thinking skills in both data collection and complex analysis; ability to identify data gaps and risks, develop sound conclusions, and create implementable and sustainable recommendations for improvement
  • Project Management
  • Management Consulting and experience leading consulting teams and with responsibility for management of C-Suite client stakeholders
  • Exemplary skills across Microsoft Office including Excel data analysis, statistical review, and modeling, and Power Bi
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to create communications that “tell the story”, and effectively deliver presentations of content in a customer-facing forum
  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA or Master’s degree preferred
  • Job Location

    Synergetics collaborates with clients across various locations. Travel to client site will be need based on the project and the client’s requirements. Convenient access within one hour from an international airport is needed.
