Job description

Banner University Medical Group is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our esteemed Orthopedic team at the Banner - University Medicine Phoenix. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional orthopedic care to our diverse patient population.

Position Overview :

Title : Orthopedic Physician Assistant
Location : Banner - University Medicine Phoenix
Schedule : Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Call Requirements : None

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused patient histories and physical examinations.

Order, interpret, and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures to formulate differential diagnoses and establish working diagnoses.

Develop and implement treatment plans for orthopedic conditions within the scope of practice.

Perform therapeutic procedures such as joint and bursa aspirations, injections, and applications of braces, casts, and splints.

Assist in surgical procedures, including first assist, tissue closures, and application of appliances.

Participate in hospital rounds, write orders, and contribute to patient education and counseling on preventive care.

Minimum Qualifications :

Current, unrestricted Arizona Physician Assistant license.

Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Current prescribing privileges, including a DEA license for controlled substances.

Minimum of one year of professional experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in orthopedic surgery.

Experience in trauma and foot / ankle surgery is preferred.

Strong decision-making skills and the ability to function effectively within a collaborative care model.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly energized and flexible, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
