The Tampa Bay Academy of Hope seeks a passionate Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator for our Climate Labor Initiative : Maximizing Access to Training and Employment (CLIMATE) Program. This role is essential for engaging directly with vulnerable and underserved communities, understanding their challenges, and recruiting them into workforce development programs. This position requires a deep commitment to community-centered solutions and the ability to build strong, empathetic relationships with potential participants.
Key Responsibilities :
Community Engagement : Work directly with vulnerable and underserved communities to identify material issues, assist in self-organization, resistance, and educational efforts. Develop an understanding of community needs and tailor recruitment strategies accordingly.
Participant Recruitment : Build relationships with potential participants to recruit them into the program. Use strong interpersonal skills to connect with people of greatly varied experiences.
Partnership Development : Formalize partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and employers to create educational routes and support structures for the apprenticeship program.
Data Collection and Analysis : Conduct research on the programs impact and success. Collect and analyze data regularly to measure compliance with performance goals and identify areas for improvement.
Performance Management : Meet and document weekly and monthly targets for prospecting calls, new employer appointments, job starts, verifications, and follow-ups with existing employers.
Reporting : Provide monthly updates and complete bi-monthly comprehensive reports to the Program Manager on program progress, challenges, and milestones.
Quality Improvement : Continuously work to improve job quality standards within the sector, focusing on wage growth, benefits, working conditions, and career progression.

Strengthen Partnerships : Develop and formalize partnerships that support educational pathways and apprenticeship opportunities.
Enhance Program Impact : Use data-driven insights to refine recruitment strategies and program interventions, ensuring alignment with community needs and program objectives.
Achieve Performance Targets : Consistently meet or exceed defined recruitment and engagement metrics to ensure the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in social work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
Experience working in outreach, community engagement, or recruitment, preferably within a nonprofit or community-based setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with community members and stakeholders.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in data analysis and performance monitoring.
Required Goals :
Expand Apprenticeship Offerings : Establish and research partners for three new apprenticeship programs across identified sectors, ensuring alignment with industry needs and employment trends.
Enhance Sector-Specific Pathways : Specifically develop and implement a comprehensive employment pathway for the hospitality sector.
Formalize Partnerships : Secure at least 10 Memorandums of Understanding with new and existing partners to strengthen cooperation and ensure commitment to shared objectives.
Provide monthly reports to the program manager as updates on the program progress and goals. Complete bi-monthly reports to the program manager.
