Overnight Duties Checklist

Overnighters are responsible for maintaining the facility while we are closed. It is paramount for the safety of the dogs that they are always monitored. The duties include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning the facility and any soiled belongings
• Administering food and logging consumption
• Giving all boarding dogs a bathroom break
• Ensure all dogs and the building are safely maintained throughout the night
• Take notes of any abnormal behavior/health issues to report to opening Management

Duties Checklist

• Check with closing Management if there is anything extra that needs attention.
• Lock the front and back gate. Lock and arm the doors.
• Do an initial walk-through and complete the feeding report for all dogs who ate/didn't eat
• If a dog has an accident in their kennel during the night, clean and launder belongings if needed
• Launder any soiled belongings and record all items on the Laundry Log
• Remove food bowls from kennels if they have finished their food. Wash any steel bowls that were used for dinner.
• Be sure everyone has water in their steel bowls.
• All laundry must be washed, dried, and put away for the day shift. Appropriate sized towels should be dispersed to all dog rooms.
• Take all boarding dogs out individually on a lead. Absolutely no barking and disturbing the neighbors. Outs should be completed between 10pm-1am.
• Take out the trash to the dumpsters.
• Disinfect the play yards and play equipment in the yards. Disinfect front and back walkways.
• Clean bathrooms (water fountains, toilets, sinks, trashcans, urinal, mirrors)
• Restock bathrooms if necessary
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop the lobby, hallways, bathrooms and rugs (excluding the dog rooms)
• Disinfect and clean the Groom Room
• Prepare all mop buckets for the day.
• Set up rooms for the day with necessary supplies
• Deliver all dogs breakfast to their kennels
• Complete feeding report for every dog for breakfast
• Do a closing walk-through (clean up any messes or accidents that occur before 6am)
• Update opening staff of any abnormal behavior (vomiting, anxious, destructive, etc.) or if any personal belongings are still in the wash
• Get clearance from Management before clocking out for the day.
