Responsibilities / duties include, but are not limited to the following :
Operatestate of the art packaging equipment / machinery, mixers / mixing machines, pumping equipment, hi-speed mixers, and tinting equipment in the production area.
Follow process orders from beginning to end and record all pertinent information.
Add materials at specified quantities and times, observe temperatures and or mixtures and chemical reactions.
Record necessary batch information record samples at designated times to ensure timely, consistent, quality batches.
Will operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
Will operate packaging line while loading units to be packaged and preparing finished product for delivery or warehousing.
Packager will take corrective actions when nonconformance occurs.
May perform work on various packaging lines to ensure the timely production of products
Will read batch tickets and must be able to understand and communicate in English to operate machines and interface with PLC control screens, read and complete process orders, and complete safety tests.
Must be able to solve simple math problems to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings.
You will participate in confined space entry machine cleaning activities, which include use of body harness and extraction system.
You will participate in determining and implementing corrective actions.
Must be able to wear all required PPE including air purified respirators.
Use of computers to make labels.
Lifting up to 65lbs throughout the shift. Maximum lifting requirement is up to 90lbs and must be able to push / pull up to 100 - 150 pounds.
Work within a confined space is required and the position will work with chemicals.
This position may also be assigned tasks in other functional areas as required to help support the overall success of the facility.
Individuals must be willing to work as a team member.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
High School Diploma or GED required
2 years of experience in manufacturing and can demonstrate mechanical reasoning skills.
2 year of forklift and shipping experience
Prefer experience in confined space entry.
Previous mixing, color matching, or compounding experience a plus
Responsible for assuring quality work and appearance of finished product for packaging.
Can follow procedures and written directions.
Must have good math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
Work in a safe and compliant manner.
Able to lift 50lbs-90lbs throughout the shift.
Schedule is a 12 hour rotation on days, 5 : 00am to 5 : 30pm.
You'll work a 2 X 3 X 2 rotation (ie., 1st week, you'll work 2 days, off 3 days, then work 2 days; the next week you'll be off 2 days, work 3 days, then off 2 days - with this rotation, you'll have every other weekend off.) Additional overtime may be required.
