I reviewed your resume on Indeed, and I am currently hiring for Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN at a local school in Palos Verdes, CA 90274 We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide dedicated 1 : 1 support to a 9th-grade male student with cerebral palsy. This student utilizes an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device and requires assistance with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including feeding and mobility support. This role includes closely monitoring for signs of respiratory distress and ensuring the student's physical and academic needs are met throughout the school day. Feeding and respiratory training will be provided. As an LVN in this role, you will also support the student academically in collaboration with a dedicated paraeducator. This is a full-time position offering benefits and 401 K , available on school days, with competitive compensation based on experience. Position : Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - 1 : 1 School-Based Support Location : Palos Verdes CA 90274 Grade level : Highschool Duration : November 4, 2024 Hours Per Week : 26.25 Days Per Week : Monday-Friday (3 days er week) Shift Hours : Mondays 8 : 15 AM - 1 : 30 PM; Tuesday-Friday 8 : 15 AM - 2 : 30 PM Compensation : $37 per hour Responsibilities : Provide 1 : 1 support to a student with cerebral palsy, assisting with ADLs and adaptive equipment use. Monitor and recognize signs and symptoms of respiratory distress; training on the student's typical respiratory status will be provided. Support feeding needs, with dysphagia management training offered. Collaborate with educational paraeducators to assist with academic tasks. Ensure safe, respectful, and effective communication using the student’s AAC device. Qualifications : License : Current CA LVN license Experience : Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and adaptive equipment is advantageous Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff and other support professionals I specialize in placing candidates in school based pediatric settings and we offer a variety of work options, giving our employees more opportunities and flexibility.
