About the Senior Pastor :

Taylor Brethren Church is seeking a dedicated and spiritually mature Senior Pastor to lead our congregation in spiritual growth, worship, and community outreach. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic preacher, compassionate shepherd, and effective administrator who aligns with the beliefs and practices of the Brethren tradition. The Senior Pastor will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, pastoral care, and administrative oversight, ensuring that the church fulfills its mission and vision.

The Senior Pastor's Responsibilities Include :

  • Spiritual Leadership and Preaching :
  • Prepare and deliver biblically-based sermons that inspire, challenge, and encourage the congregation.
  • Lead and coordinate worship services, including special services for holidays and significant events.
  • Facilitate the development of discipleship programs to foster spiritual growth and maturity within the church community.

Pastoral Care

  • Provide pastoral counseling and support to individuals and families in need, including hospital visits, crisis intervention, and prayer.
  • Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other ceremonial functions.
  • Develop and oversee small groups, Bible studies, and other ministries that promote fellowship and mutual care among members.
  • Church Administration

  • Work collaboratively with church staff, elders, and ministry leaders to implement the church’s vision and goals.
  • Oversee the church’s budget, financial stewardship, and resource allocation in partnership with the church board.
  • Ensure compliance with church policies and denominational guidelines, fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all.
  • Community Engagement

  • Represent the church in community activities and develop relationships with local organizations and leaders.
  • Promote and participate in outreach initiatives that address the spiritual and practical needs of the broader community.
  • Encourage and equip church members to engage in mission work locally and globally.

    Education & Experience

  • 7-10 years of church leadership experience
  • Undergraduate degree, required
  • Seminary degree, required
  • Ordained or eligible for ordination within the Brethren tradition
  • Agreement with the standards and doctrine of Taylor Brethren Church and the Unity of the Brethren
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Characteristics

  • An effective and compelling communicator, publicly and personally, in both spoken and written communication
  • Ability to lead with compassion, humility, and integrity
  • Background in conflict resolution and pastoral counseling
  • Ability to inspire and mobilize volunteers and lay leaders
  • Ability to establish spiritual growth
  • A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry
