Job descriptionBachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline / field from an accredited college or university Master's degree from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program Licenses and Certifications : PA (ASCP) - Pathologist Assistant Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology . Unlicensed / new graduates must take and pass the ASCP Certification Exam prior to their start date. A letter on official letterhead must be provided by the Program Director stating that the PA has passed the exam. The official documentation of certification from the ASCP must be submitted to the departmental supervisor within 90 days. . Description
- Dictates gross descriptions of tissue specimens and hardware
- Dissects wet tissue specimens
- Instruct residents, fellows, and medical students in tissue dissection techniques
- Perform frozen section procedures
- Performs specimen radiographs for selective specimens
- Preserve tissues for ancillary studies and tissue bank
- Preserve tissues for departmental tissue library
- Select representative sections for embedding, staining and microscopic evaluation
- Weighs, measures, and selectively photographs tissue specimens
- Performs fine needle aspiration (FNA) adequacies

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00 / hr.
