Are you passionate about helping patients navigate the healthcare system and ensuring they receive the best possible care? Do you have experience in coordinating surgeries and procedures, particularly in the field of orthopedics? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Patient Navigator at Orthopedic Institute in Sioux Falls, SD.
As a Patient Navigator, you will play a crucial role in guiding patients through the surgical process, from the initial consultation to post-operative care. You will work closely with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless and positive experience for each patient. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate surgery and procedures for our orthopedic patients, providing support and guidance every step of the way.
Duties include :
- Coordinate surgery scheduling by working closely with the physician team and patients to ensure smooth and efficient scheduling process.
- Ensure all pre-operative protocols are completed prior to surgery to guarantee patient safety and compliance with medical standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide necessary information and instructions regarding pre-operative procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to organize and prioritize surgical schedules based on medical urgency and patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgery schedules, patient information, and pre-operative requirements.
Requirements :
In this role, effective communication and organizational skills are essential, as you will be liaising with patients, families, and healthcare providers daily. You must be able to work efficiently under pressure and be able to multitask effectively to ensure that all surgery and procedure scheduled are carried out smoothly and on time.
Our ideal candidate must have a background in healthcare or a related field, with experience in patient care coordination or similar roles. A compassionate and empathetic attitude is necessary, as you will be dealing with patients who may be anxious or distressed about their treatment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet are also crucial, as you may need to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the surgery and procedure sched process.
